Impact Soundworks, who are responsible for the also free orchestral library Palette Primary Colors for Kontakt, have recently released what is without a doubt one of the best orchestral hit freebies that we’ve seen (and heard) to date: Orchestral Hit System for the free Kontakt Player.
What is different about the new VST is not just the free Kontakt Player compatibility (which of course is always appreciated), or actually – even the quality of the samples it provides – but the possibilities of it. And they are quite many.
Well, instead of samples that are stacked and glued together, Orchestral Hit System: High Intensity Transients lets you fully control, mix and balance each and every one of the orchestral components that make that special, impactful ensemble sound – the very sound that we hear in symphonic arrangements, cinematic scores, live action TV shows, animation sequences and video games.
Orchestral Hit System HIT features 8 layers of symphonic sounds – consisting of bright piano samples, brass, string and wind sections as well as a percussion bed of powerful drums (timpani, low bass drum and crash cymbal) in addition to a layer of synth.
Each layer features 2 dynamic samples (a ‘very loud’ fortissimo and a ‘loud’ forte) and every instrument or section can be fine-tuned to the very last detail, with sound design options that allow for pitch manipulations, transpositions, panning and more.
Orchestral Hit System: High Intensity Transients by Impact Soundworks is compatible with Native Instruments Kontakt Player 7.8+ and supports VST, AU, and AAX plugin formats (Windows PC and Mac/macOS 64-bit).
