Deep Harpsichord is a physical modeling based library made for the free Decent Sampler player.
Featuring a four octave instrument that is just a little over 100MB in size, the new Auditory1 harpsichord – the 4th freebie in the continuing Deep series – offers 98 high quality 24-bit samples in WAV format.
This Pianobook sample pack contains two unique sets of sounds. There are 49 stereo Attack triggers but also 49 independent Release samples – for increased authenticity and instrument playability.
Deep Harpsichord is very minimalistic when it comes to tone, character and is also dry sounding. With this one, I wanted to create a rather pliable string instrument – so there is no reverb applied or any other coloring effect whatsoever.
The only audio manipulations used during the sampling process are dynamics shapers (like compressors and transient processors), spatial-based effects (like early reflections) and stereo enhancers. I also applied high-pass and low-pass filters on the final mix bus to cut the harsh frequencies and the unnecessary basses.
Compared to other harpsichords, Deep Harpsichord is quite on the softer side, but it can cut through any mix with ease.
Deep Harpsichord is available as a free Decent Sampler library. DS comes as a standalone PC application as well as a VST plugin. Supported formats: VST, VST3, AAX, AU (Windows 32-bit/64-bit, Mac, Linux, iOS & iPadOS).
