Austria-based musician, producer and plugin developer Phil Speiser is now offering one of his VST FX plugins for free – but only for a “short” period of time.
The Spice is an OTT (Over The Top) style multiband compressor and dynamics shaper. It offers a rather simplistic plugin utility with only 3 major sound processing tools: Intensity, XTRM and Spark. It also provides a dry/wet Mix knob as well as a couple of gain controls to balance the input/output.
Intensity functions as a global effect control and is used to determine how much of the effect is actually applied to the incoming signal. XTRM (“extreme”) acts as a more powerful OTT style compression module that you can use for more defined processing. The last major module, Spark, is a high-frequency-band dynamic enhancer that will brighten the top end of your sound.
The Spice by Phil Speiser is compatible with Windows 64-bit and Mac and supports plugin formats VST3, AAX as well as Audio Units (AU). In order to download this free plugin, the developer requires you to register.
