MixBox SE GUI

APD is now offering MixBox SE by IK Multimedia for free for a limited time

A blockbuster giveaway. That is how the latest major offer is described by the Audio Plugin Deals website, with the latest free plugin announcement in collaboration with IK Multimedia. Available for just a few days.

MixBox Special Edition: a multi-effect rack

The MixBox Special Edition by IK Multimedia is a collection of VST audio effect plugins. It is essentially an effect rack, meaning it allows the user to stack various sound shaping modules and parameters at once so you can form a creative chain of FX.

The default, initial setup provides 4 mixing channels, yet it is possible to expand it to a maximum total of 8 by clicking that small icon at the very top left side of the GUI. Another icon, at the bottom left corner, controls the appearance of the dry/wet parameters.

IK’s MixBox SE offers some creative coloring agents like (guitar) amps, saturation/distortion and lofi modules, as well as filters and modulation effects like chorus, flanger & phaser – but also some more basic yet very handy ones like an equalizer, a series of dynamic processors, delay and reverb.

There is a total of 24 FX plugins available and the complete list of modules includes the following:

  • Amps – British Tube Lead, Flexi Amp, Preamp, SVT Classic
  • Channel Strip
  • Digital Delay
  • Distortion & Lo-Fi
  • Dynamics – British Dynamics, Limiter, White 2A
  • Parametric EQ
  • Filter – Envelope Filter, Filter Phaser, Wah 47
  • Modulation – Chorus, Electric Flanger, Ensemble, Phaser, Slicer
  • Reverb – Ambience, Digital Reverb, Plate Reverb
  • Saturation (Saturator-X)

IK Multimedia’s MixBox SE is normally priced at just under 100 USD and will be free for a limited time for an unspecified duration.
