Texas-based composer Jon Meyer, a YouTuber and notable Pianobook contributor, has now released a standalone VST plugin version to the popular Kawai Felt Piano sample pack from 2020 – part of his newly established label, Somerville Sounds.
The Prototype Dusty Felts library is described as an analog sounding piano VST that focuses on providing that sought-after nostalgic, vintage Lo-Fi sound.
This felted Kawai upright features a bunch of sound degradation audio effects and lofi modules such as “WoW” and flutter. It also provides a mixable layer of hiss as well as long tail, ambient Release triggers. There are two dynamic velocity layers and two round robin variations.
A Windows and Mac compatible instrument, the Dusty Felts Prototype piano by Somerville Sounds comes as a VST3, AAX and AU plugin.
