Bunker Samples have released Intimate Cello Extended Harmonics Lite for Kontakt 7 (full version). The free sample library, based on the commercial library by the same name, contains a variety of textural sounds that rely on soft, muted articulations such as con sordino and normale (bowed harmonics).
Intimate Cello Ext.Har Lite is a 200MB Kontakt VST that is compatible with Windows (64-bit) and Mac operating systems. According to the developer, the library uses only 5 sampled notes to cover a playable range of exactly four octaves. The notes are stretched across the virtual keyboard while offering a sound that ranges from acoustic and natural (on the lower registers) to more “synthy” on the higher registers.
Despite the limited use of samples, this free cello instrument provides 5 layers of harmonics that you can mix and balance as well as an additional layer of bow noise. The interface also offers audio effects like delay and reverb in addition to some more features.
To download the free Bunker Samples library, it is required to sign up to the developer’s mailing list. As stated on their website, the recipient will also receive download links to previously released Kontakt freebies such as the Intimate Viola Ext.Har Lite library, the textural, short articulated horror-themed Scary Viola Pizz and the Gongster’s Paradise sample pack (playable Vietnamese gongs).
Intimate Cello Ext.Har Lite is available for the full, retail version of Kontakt. The Native Instruments sampler comes as a stand-alone application for PC and macOS as well as in the following VST plugin formats: VST3, AU & AAX.
