Earlier in the week, developer Revolt DSP have published a new, free guitar amp VST effect plugin labeled EVOampLite.
The VST plugin packs some impressive distortion capabilities and interesting amp emulations. It gives you two types of cabinets that you can choose as your setup – either a 6L6 cab simulation or a MegaOversized 4×12 cab for a bigger, deeper vintage analog sound.
In addition to the above said, this guitar amp simulator also provides four sound design guitar pedals which are part of an effect chain that includes gate (noise gate), overdrive, reverb (shimmer) and delay.
The main amplifier unit has the standard gain, low, mid & high and volume (master) knobs as well as a Presence parameter that functions as a low-pass frequency cutoff filter.
EVOampLite is available as a VST3 plugin for Windows 64-bit as well as a macOS AU plugin. It also works in standalone mode.
RevoltDSP also included a bunch of presets (which are optional), however they need to be installed separately.
Important: Preset files must be installed in the default directory (for Windows\PC users, that’s your Documents path/folder which is under Documents\Revolt DSP\EVOampLite). Otherwise, they simply won’t show up in the plugin’s preset menu.
This release comes a bit after the Plugin Alliance special guitar FX bundle that included a bunch of other VST plugin effects as a free download.
