Sonixinema Delicate Strings Kontakt Player

Sonixinema release free cinematic strings for Kontakt Player

Sonixinema have launched Delicate Strings – a free orchestral string ensemble for Native Instruments Kontakt Player, part of a new, free Origins series.

A 16 piece chamber string section, this new sample library features the sound of 8 violins, 4 violas and 4 cellos – captured in the city of Budapest, Hungary.

Sonixinema Delicate Strings is based on textural sounds and expressive swells. It is not the “cleanest” of string libraries and comes as a more of an experimental soundset, offering rough, accented, harmonic sustains.

Sound-wise and feature-wise, it is quite similar to the also free Roots Untold Strings. Dynamically, you are provided with a standard Dynamics fader which combines a softer articulation with a more textural, “frozen” sounding layer.

What is interesting about this particular Kontakt library is the Proximity feature. The Proximity feature lets you mix & balance 4 microphone positions simultaneously using a single control. The included mic perspectives are Close, Mid, Far (which is a Decca Tree signal) and Ambient. A similar feature can be seen recurringly in the free Fracture Sounds Blueprint series of Kontakt Player instruments.

Effects include reverb, delay and lofi sound degradation. Also provided is a Gater feature – which is a rhythmic gate sequencer. There is also a band equalizer and ADSR envelope controls as well as low-pass (labeled Blur) and high-pass (Gloss) frequency filters.

Sonixinema Delicate Strings is compatible with NI Kontakt and the free Kontakt Player versions 7 and above. The Native Instruments sampler is offered in standalone mode as well as in plugin formats VST 3, AAX and AU for Windows PC (64-bit) and Mac. Download requires email.
