The Crow Hill Company has released the next free instrument in the continuing Vaults series. This time, presenting a native Irish bodhrán drum with evolving rhythmic patterns and multi samples.
The free Crow Hill Vaults Solo Bodhran VST plugin features 15 monophonic dynamic phrases (assigned to the white keys) as well as 10 polyphonic individual black-key-assigned drum one shots – that contain at least 2 round robins (sample variations) per hit.
Each of the white key notes features a unique rhythmical pattern which is a pre-recorded performance of this Celtic bodhran percussion. Every phrase is a loop that you can also sync to your DAWs tempo (host BPM). By utilizing your MIDI controller mod-wheel and the CC#1 mappable Rhythm parameter you are able to change it expressively for a more developing sound.
For additional dynamic control, the drum is also paired with a Distance parameter that – based on preceding Vaults freebies – is probably a Decca Tree microphone signal or some farther-away-placed stereo mic/s.
Other parameters and controls in the effect section include a bitcrusher (also a distortion module), compressor (labeled Squeeze) as well as reverb and delay units.
As with all Vaults instruments, Solo Bodhran will remain available for 6 months before being archived.
Vaults Solo Bodhran by The Crow Hill Company comes as a VST3 plugin for Windows PC and Mac (64-bit). It is also supported in the Audio Units format as well as AAX (Avid Audio Extension).
