Arturia has released its second freebie in the company’s Augmented series – presenting Augmented Mallets Play, a keyboard percussion VST plugin featuring samples of three mallet instruments – marimba, celeste and vibraphone.
The first in the series was the Augmented Strings library – which Arturia put out in April of 2022.
The new library will be available for a limited time until January 2, 2025.
Using Samples and Synths to Generate Sonically Astonishing Atmospheres
The Arturia hybrid engine uses both samples and synthesis-based audio manipulations to generate its unique sounds and presets.
For this project, as already mentioned, three mallets were sampled – marimba, celesta and vibraphone.
The Arturia Augmented Mallets Play library has a little bit of everything when it comes to sound. From more natural percussive tones of bells and chimes to lush sounding ambient patches and tonally evolving soundscapes.
Augmented Mallets Play is not only a quality sampler – but also a very decent digital synthesizer with impressive sound shaping capabilities.

Arturia Augmented Mallets Play plugin is compatible with Windows 64-bit and Mac. It is supported in stand-alone, VST, AAX, AU and the NKS formats.
