Sampleson have launched rePEDAL – a new and free experimental A.I. powered guitar pedal VST plugin for Windows PC and macOS (64-bit).
To make this innovative effect plugin, which is now in a beta testing stage, the developer have used deep learning and Artificial Intelligence.
AI Overdrive
As described and thoroughly clarified in the official release, the free rePEDAL plugin does not aim to replicate any existing physical piece of hardware, but instead create a totally new one using a sophisticated neural network model.
A neural network model is an AI machine learning technology in which a system of smart algorithms tries to imitate the human brain function and in this case – the creative and innovative thought process in development of soundware and music equipment.
This unique guitar pedal plugin from Sampleson is able to generate a whole new overdrive pedal configuration in a simple click of a button – all based on AI. It not only generates a new auditory effect, but also an accompanying visual with a special design and name.
To use this plugin, the player needs to push a dedicated REMAKE labeled button that is located in the top right corner of the interface. Other than the main amp distortion effect, the pedal also includes a gate function for more volume control.
Sampleson rePEDAL is available for Windows 64bit and Mac in the following plugin formats: VST (VST3) and Audio Unit (AU).
